Hi! My name is Martin Granda.
As a guitar teacher my passion has been looking for better solutions for beginner guitarists experiencing loss of motivation, lack of practice structure, and pain and discomfort while playing.
With this methodology you will be able to achieve the guitar playing you always dreamed of without the common reality of giving up and storing your guitar in the closet.
My guitar journey started when I was 11 years old, I began taking guitar lessons in a music conservatory in Ecuador.
Back then the guitar was bigger than me!
The methodology was super strict and rigid.
My first guitar teacher made me cry.
In 2014 I moved to NYC to study music at Mannes College of Music.
Moving to NYC was a huge change in my life and being among amazing musicians made me realize that I wasn’t up to par with the level of my peers.
I struggled a lot at the begging. I got frustrated and no matter how many hours I practiced I didn’t seem to advance and reach the goals I wanted.
I almost quit.
Luckily I kept an open mind, and started analyzing my practicing and technique habits.
I realized that just the way I sat to play meaningfully impacted my playing, and (believe it or not) there is a correct way of sitting!
After reading and researching effective learning methods I started to rethink my practicing habits, and to rethink my teaching philosophy.
Funny enough I started improving by practicing with less effort and less time.
I knew I had to synthesize this knowledge to my students when I started noticing them having similar technical issues, bad posture, and not a clear idea of how to effectively practice and think about the guitar.
Thus my Interactive Method Book came into fruition.
